In this blog post/challenge, I’m going to walk you through exactly what you need to get started. I break everything down into bite-sized chunks so that you don’t get overwhelmed.
Plus, even if you’re super busy, if you can set aside just 30 minutes a day for 5 days, I guarantee you’ll be feeling more confident in your sewing skills.
No confusion.
No “What about blah blah blah…”
Just clear, actionable steps you can take right now to start sewing.

~ Special Quarantine Edition ~
I know that quarantine has many people feeling like life has been put on pause, and not necessarily in a good way.
Quarantine is effecting everyone differently, and there are going to be some struggles as we all figure out how to handle it. That being said, I would like to try and bring a positive light to this situation as much as possible.
So, I would LOVE to use this time to help as many people as possible finally get started sewing!
Imagine being able to leave quarantine a little more confident, a little more creative, and being able to realize that you put this time of “pause” to good use.
What Do we Cover In the 5-Day Challenge
For this special Quarantine Edition, I’ll be hosting the 5-Day Challenge LIVE in a FB group.
Each day this month I will be going LIVE and covering a different topic to help you get started sewing quickly.
Day 1: 5-Minute Intro to Your Sewing Machine
Your sewing machine isn’t as complicated as it seems. There are really only a few things you need to know to start practicing.
Looking for a more in-depth look at your machine? Check out my Sewing Machine 101 Series where I break the sewing machine down into sections and explain each one in detail.
Bonus: Get access to my list of the 10 Tools You Must Have to Start Sewing.
Day 2: Tips for Sewing Straight
Sewing perfectly straight is overrated. I’ve been sewing for years and I still have a few crooked lines here and there. But I’ll share some super easy tips + tricks for getting your stitches a little straighter.
And! You don’t even have to thread your machine to start practicing!
Day 3: How To Thread the Bobbin
The bobbin is the name for the bottom thread on your sewing machine. And almost all sewing machines have a built-in option for threading one. I’ll show you step-by-step how to do this.
Day 4: Thread Your Sewing Machine
Now that you have your bobbin, it’s time to thread your machine.
Day 5: Your First #MeMade Project
Congrats! That’s everything you need to jump in and get started on your first project!
You can pick anything you want but we’ll be doing DIY Headbands LIVE in the group.
If you’ve been dreaming of sewing but have been too scared, stuck, or confused to get started then join this 5-Day Challenge pronto!
You can do this! You just have to start taking small baby steps in the right direction.
Plus, I’ll be LIVE with you every weekday so if you have any Q’s or feel a little lost, you can always post in the group and get personal support from me.
