What People Are Saying...

And some example skirts my amazing students have already made inside this class!

I loved the class! I had never used a sewing machine myself and it seemed like a complex monster.

After the first half of the class my fear of using it went away, Abbie is great at explaining every detail in a fun and easy way.

She’s a fantastic teacher with contagious energy. After the second half of the class I felt so proud and accomplished as I left with a beautiful skirt that I made 🤩.

I think overall the class was great, I felt that even when I was stuck I could ask anything or stop to wait for some help.

I felt the most confident with my sewing machine afterwards. And most importantly, when I made mistakes I felt that it wasn't the end of the world, which made me less frustrated.

Both the classes were well structured and detailed. Once I bought my sewing machine I felt immediately comfortable to use it, thread it and try different set ups.

The "skirt" class was also well thought and prepared, it was good to have a couple of models to choose from and I feel confident to make another skirt on my own.

This class is for you if...

  1. You are an absolute beginner who’s never touched a sewing machine or
  2. Someone who knows their way around a sewing machine but is still haunted by that one project from last year that you just couldn’t get right

You’ll get the support, the guidance, and the “wait — I can actually do this!” feeling you’ve been craving.

By the end of this class, you won’t just own a handmade piece of clothing.

You’ll be the kind of person who makes her own clothes — and feels damn proud of it.

Does this sound like you?

You’ve wanted to make your own clothes for so long, but

❌

Everything feels way too technical, like you missed something that everyone else already figured out.

❌

You’ve tried YouTube, free patterns, maybe even a class. But nothing was beginner-friendly enough

❌

You want to make your own clothes… but you’re quietly wondering if you’re just not “crafty” or skilled enough to pull it off.

❌

Meanwhile, nothing fits, shopping is exhausting, and fast fashion feels wrong. Sewing still feels like the answer — just way out of reach.

You’re discouraged, overloaded, and honestly? A little tired of starting over.

Now, just imagine making your first DIY Skirt…

It’s not just a skirt.

It’s a whole new feeling.

You made it, and that feeling is unmatched. Maybe it’s not perfect, but it’s yours — and that’s what makes it amazing.

What once felt impossible now feels natural. You followed through. You finished something. And it wasn’t nearly as scary as it seemed.

It fits — and it feels like you. Not just in size, but in personality, comfort, and confidence.

You’re no longer just watching others create. You’re part of it now — your wardrobe, your story, your self confidence… all growing with every stitch.

Now you’re excited and can’t wait to make your next piece of clothing!

There’s a Reason You’re Struggling

(And It’s Not You)

Hi! My name’s Abbie, and I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be someone who made her own clothes.

In fact, the only reason I even tried to sew was because I was a teenage girl with a very real, very urgent problem: I was sharing hand me down dresses with two sisters for school dances. OMG, the embarrassment 😂

That’s when I found a sewing machine buried in a closet around the house and thought, “How hard can it be to just make my own dresses?”

Turns out, teaching yourself to sew is really freaking hard! I wasted tons of fabric, cried over crooked seams, and spent years thinking I just didn’t have “the sewing gene.” But I couldn’t let go of the dream — and years later, when I finally took a real sewing class, everything changed. All the things I thought were “me problems” had very easy, obvious answers AFTER someone pointed them out to me.

That experience lit a fire in me. Because if I’d had that kind of help from the beginning, I could’ve saved so much time and frustration.

Now, I help other people skip the years of struggle — and finally make a piece of clothing they feel proud to wear – quickly, while having fun!

Which is exactly why I created...

My First DIY Skirt!

A beginner-friendly, step-by-step experience that guides you through making your very first piece of clothing (yes, even if you’ve never touched a sewing machine before)

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never sewn before — is this really for complete beginners?

Yes!

This course is designed specifically for people who have never touched a sewing machine before. Every step is explained in simple, clear language with no assumptions. You’ll learn how to set up your machine, thread it, troubleshoot, and sew your very first skirt.

Do I need to have a sewing machine already?

Not necessarily!

Inside the course, I share my best tips and tricks for choosing the perfect sewing machine for you.

That said, your support inside the community begins the moment you join, so the sooner you get your hands on a machine, the sooner you’ll be ready to dive in and start sewing!

How much time will I need to complete the project?

The entire course can be complete in 6 hours.

That being said, I have included a few different scheduling options to ensure everyone can find time in their calendars to complete this course.

If you can sew 3–4 hours a week, you can finish in about 2 weeks.

If your time is tighter, 2 hours a week will get you there in about 4 weeks. The plan is flexible and designed to work with your life.

What if I get stuck or don’t understand something?

You’re never alone!

You’ll have one full month of support inside the Sewing Sewcial membership where you can ask questions and get responses within 24 hours.

Plus, there are two live Q&A sessions where I’ll personally help with any challenges you’re facing.

Is this course only about making one skirt?

The main project is an elastic-waist skirt perfect for beginners, but the skills you learn apply to many other sewing projects.

Plus, the customization options let you make the skirt your own and you can totally make tons of different skirts from this one class!

This course is about building your confidence and skills to keep creating beyond this first project.

I’m worried I’m just not “good with my hands.” Can I really do this?

 I’ve been there!

Sewing seemed impossible for me at first, but with clear guidance, patience, and support, you’ll be amazed at what you can create.

This course breaks everything down into small, manageable steps — so it’s doable no matter your experience.

Here’s everything you’re getting when you join:

You’re not just getting a course — you’re getting a full support system
